Splitting California into two states? why don’t we just separate the coasts and the rest of country? or how about separating the red and the blue states? maybe we should just separate the rich and the poor? black from white? conservative and liberals? gays and straights?
It’s an IDEOLOGICAL split of the state! don’t try and cover it with that bullshit excuse calling it a “debt” resolution. What kills me even more is seeing young folks actually believing this crap.
I consider myself a free thinker and I can say most of my beliefs would be labeled as liberal. But being labeled “liberal” is something I’ve learned to despise now.
I used to believe that being liberal was a great title, it meant that I was intellectual, smart, compassionate, caring and insightful. That was the PAST. Now all I see are spoiled, middle class college kids, who claim themselves to be liberals, who know nothing of struggle, who have never starved a day in their lives and know nothing of what a revolution means. They take a stand against conservatives and they think that’s what being liberal means. Liberals talk about revolution like it’s a HOBBY, like it’s almost COOL to revolt against the system.
Huey P. Newton once said:
“The first lesson a revolutionary must learn is that he is a doomed man.”
Malcolm X also said:
“If you’re not ready to die for it, put the word ‘freedom’ out of your vocabulary.”
Revolution is spilled blood, it is sacrifice, revolution means that your mind is worth more than your life. So please liberals, if you’re not willing to take bullets, put your lives on the line and die, then please don’t support a revolution you can’t finish. If you’re not going to be the first ones in front of the gun barrels, then don’t start a fire you can’t put out. Because once a revolution starts, there’s no stopping it, there’s no turning back and wishing things didn’t get violent, there’s no way you can go back to that comfortable middle-class life you called struggle.
PS. Forgive me if I sound harsh. This isn’t aimed towards all liberals. Just the ones who are unwilling to learn about the history of change, the struggles of change and the sacrifices needed to make those changes. Like I said earlier, many of my beliefs would be called liberal. I just don’t want to be labeled as one because I believe the word has been tarnished and twisted. Being liberal to me used to be an ideological term not a political one. Now, being liberal involves hating Republicans and anyone who thinks differently. We all share this country, this planet, I am against most conservative views, but that does not mean I support hatred towards Republicans.
It’s called working together, not working apart, any true liberal would know what I’m talking about.
